Vintage Canvas surrounded by Tapestry. History of this item: I purchased this huge canvas at the Pec Thing Antique Show a while back. The woman who originally owned it told me that her grandfather purchased this piece in the early 1900's when he was stationed in Germany. Size: Measures appx 30"x56" - framed in a floral tapestry The original "Sacred and Profane Love" (or Venus and the Bride) by V. Tiziano (or Titan, as he is also known) was painted around 1513 and is located at the Borghese Gallery in Rome. You can read more about the Titan & this painting Here. Over the years there have been many reproductions of Venus and the Bride. This is a very old reproduction (from the late 1800's) on a HUGE canvas.
